National Junior Beta recognizes high academic achievement, promotes character, social responsibility, encourages service involvement to school and community, fosters leadership skills, and provides settings for your child to develop interpersonal relationship skills. 

National Junior Beta is for qualifying students in grades 4-8. Junior Beta is now divided into two divisions: Junior Division I is for students in grades 4-5 and Junior Division II is for students in grades 6-8. Therefore, students who were inducted in elementary school are not automatically in Junior Beta in middle school. To be eligible for Junior Beta Induction, 6th grade students have to earn and maintain a 3.85 GPA in all classes during their first semester of middle school and receive no discipline referrals. Qualifying students will receive invitations to join the club after the first of the year and the induction will be during the spring semester.
